A TRIBUTE TO A FIRST DATE
I had a first date with a woman at The Rock…a wood-fired pizza joint. The food was decent, the drinks were fine, the company was great.
Flash forward a couple years later and I found out The Rock was closing permanently. I wanted to do something special for this woman’s birthday, so I swung by in the middle of the day to the empty building and took some pictures (in this section). Went home, loaded up Photoshop and spent a few dozen hours to make some magic.
Keep in mind, this was before AI could do what it’s doing now…and even then, it couldn’t get this level of nuance: the pink unicorn we won at the fair, the Target dog ornament (we met in a Target parking lot lol), and the meaning of every poster I created on the walls inside.
I had the final printed on a metal sheet and it looked….well, it looked bad ass!
Middle of the day, bright blue sky, lights are off, and I want to create a date-night vibe? How hard could it be, right? lol…
